Course Description
Covers intermediate to advanced skills in audio engineering including a mixture of theory and practical application of current recording technology. Focuses on technology as a tool for creativity. Includes digital audio, DAW anatomy, signal routing, DAW tracking, critical listening, and pitch correction. This is the fifth course in a six-course sequence. Prerequisites: MUC 236. Audit available.
Intended Outcomes for the course
Upon completion of the course, students will be able to:
- Quantify and create 3D imaging.
- Identify musical qualities and types of FX used.
- Identify problems in current listening and recording environments and develop work arounds.
- Correctly handle mics, stands, and cables.
- Troubleshoot power and noise issue.
- Demonstrate developing professional skills in time management and organization.

Outcome Assessment Strategies
