Course DescriptionPractice and enhance skills gained in the Multimedia 100 and 200 level classes. Spend 4 to 12 hours per week working in the multimedia industry (public/private sector organizations) working at an approved multimedia development company doing cooperative work. Develop career objectives by linking course work with out-of-classroom experiences by becoming part of the "multimedia team" learning cooperation, team building, communication skills and project development. Prerequisites: MM 230, 231, 235, 236, 240, 241, 245 or instructor permission.
Addendum to Course DescriptionStudents will work in a variety of multimedia situations improving skills in multimedia production, interpersonal communication, team building s, and project management. Participation in the course can be beneficial for students who want on-the-job experiences which are related to their multimedia career goals. The student may be paid depending upon the policies of the employer. This course is not intended to be a job placement class. Arrangements are made with the employer regarding the student's job description and experiences the student is to have while on the job.

Course Activities and Design
This course is designed to maximize learning through a cooperative work experience. Students will be supervised by a college cooperative supervisor and an on-site supervisor who is typically a company employee.
The student, coordinator/instructor, and employer develop a work experience plan which will meet the learning needs of the student. This plan provides a definition of on-the-job learning activities.
Outcome Assessment Strategies
Assessment is designed to indicate achievement of the course outcome and performance tasks. The instructor will outline the methods used to assess student progress and the criteria for assigning a grade at the beginning of the course. Assessment will be based upon a combination of participation, attendance, and supervisory evaluations and conferences.
Evaluation procedures will be discussed during preliminary meetings between the student, coordinator/instructor and employer. At least one site visit a term is done by the coordinator and/or instructor.
