Course Description
Introductory Photoshop tools and techniques combined with basic design and composition principles. Ideal for learning digital photo page layout and design. Macintosh experience highly recommended. Audit available.Intended Outcomes for the course
At the completion of this course students will be able to design and produce a multi-layered photo layout page utilizing Adobe Photoshop software and demonstrating the principles of successful eyeflow and hierarchy.

Photoshop–
• Demonstrate use of a variety of selection methods
• Convert color photos into black and white or sepia tone photos
• Add color tint to a black and white photo
• Scale, rotate and manipulate photos
• Create dimension through use of drop shadows
• Create a variety of background textures
• Effectively correct flaws on photos with a variety of tools
• Incorporate type into photo layouts
Design–
• Demonstrate the concept of hierarchy in a layout
• Guide the viewer’s visual direction through strategic positioning of photo elements, color and type
• Demonstrate principles of Gestalt theory in page layout
