Course DescriptionSpend a minimum of 100 hours in a supervised field experience. Participate in group debriefing sessions as arranged by PCC supervisor. Prerequisite: Permission of Department/Instructor. Audit available.

Spend nine hours per week in a supervised field experience after an orientation. Audit available.
Intended Outcomes for the course
Continue to enlarge their repertoire regarding the following outcomes through individualized goals set for each student based upon needs identified
in ED 270:
¢Apply/practice professional, ethical and legal knowledge/behavior.
¢Use interpersonal and communication skills in ways that respect communication styles and differences and show sensitivity in regard to individuals' cultural, social, cognitive, and emotional differences.
¢Use research-based techniques to support instruction.
¢Modify instruction to meet individual student needs.
¢Manage behaviors in the classroom.
¢Apply professional workplace skills.
Outcome Assessment Strategies
Students' progress will be evaluated and criteria for assigning a course grade by the following tools: daily journal, two written evaluations from the supervising teacher and two observations written up by the PCC supervisor.

¢Identify and put into practice teacher's instructional assistant's and student's roles and rights.
¢Identify and put into practice knowledge of confidentiality.
¢Report any incident or suspected incident of child abuse to the proper authority.

¢Use skills to resolve conflict.
¢Cooperate to facilitate team effort.
¢Use effective non-verbal, oral and written communication skills.
¢Maintain good working and team relations.
¢Receive, interpret and utilize feedback.
¢Model and practice listening, observation and reporting skills.
¢Practice strategies for dealing with personal/career stress.
¢Organize and prioritize policies, procedures and performance expectations required in the classroom and school setting.
¢Practice dependability, punctuality and responsibility in regards to absences and tardiness.

¢Modify and develop teaching techniques to use with students under the guidance of the teacher.
