Course Description
Continued study of denture construction including the use of articulators, finishing procedures and alternative techniques. Audit available.Addendum to Course Description
Students will expand knowledge
acquired in DT 141. Prerequisite - Students must have completed DT 141
Denture Techniques I and DT 101 Dental Technology Lab I with grades of
C or better or have permission of the course instructor. Students will learn the history of complete dentures, processing and finishing, reline, repair, rebase, of complete dentures, alternative patterns of denture occlusion, components and usage of different types of articulators, the need/procedures for immediate dentures and the theory/procedures of overdentures, and will be given knowledge and understanding of duplicate and transitional dentures. This information will coincide with and prepare students for Dental Technology Laboratory II, DT 141.

Outcome Assessment Strategies
Determined by interim written examination, lecture attendance, presentation, participation and successful completion of assignments and projects as assigned. Student will also receive a comprehensive final examination.
