Course DescriptionThis course introduces the student to basic electrical and electronic fundamentals needed by a technician to properly diagnose and repair the complex electrical installed in Caterpillar machines. DST 110 and DST 111. Prerequisites: Provide a dealer letter indicating secured internship at a participating Caterpillar Dealership. Audit available.
Intended Outcomes for the course
At the completion of this course:
§ The student will have working knowledge of basic electrical theory, components and basic electrical systems.
§ Using Caterpillar electrical schematics, the student will be able to operationally test Caterpillar machine systems, trouble-shoot diagnose, and repair electrical components and electrical systems.
Course Activities and Design
·This is an outcome-based course utilizing a lecture / lab format. This course includes videos, assignments, demonstrations, lectures, and hands on learning. Course will be taught using Caterpillar equipment and curriculum.
