Course DescriptionExplores concepts of beginning Modern Dance with a focus on correct alignment, form, musicality and moving with greater awareness. D 130B and PE 121B cannot both be taken for credit. Prerequisites: D 130A or PE 121A. Audit available.
Intended Outcomes for the course
Upon successful completion, students should be able to:
- Engage in and appreciate different forms of artistic expression through Modern Dance
- Promote health and wellbeing via physical activity, self-expression, and group interaction through Modern Dance.
- Apply lessons in Modern Dance-specific anatomy, safe practices, and injury prevention regarding correct alignment in order to improve well-being and Modern Dance performance.
- Interpret Modern Dance terminology and musicality to critically analyze performances.
