Course Description
Introduces wireless security intrusion, policies, tools, and solutions. Prerequisite: CIS 179 or instructor permission. Recommended: CIS 188. Audit available.Intended Outcomes for the course
On successful completion of this course the student should be able to:
- Describe what wireless intrusion is
- Identify the greatest security threats
- Develop a wireless security policy
- Identify security solutions
- Describe how to apply security tools
- Identify the major security legislation
Course Activities and Design
This course is presented by means of:
- on-campus lectures or distance learning lessons
- discussions,
- individual lab assignments
- and/or group lab assignments
Students will be required to use essential tools covered in this course to complete the lab assignments.
Outcome Assessment Strategies
Students will take exams, participate in discussions, and do research which results in either a presentation or paper.
