The pumps producing this level of vacuum frequently are high speed turbines utilizing magnetic levitation bearings. This equipment is utilized in the vapor deposition process onto a crystalline substrate in the photovoltaic panel manufacturing industry.

Intended Outcomes for the course

The student will be able to use helium leak testing procedures, understand the mechanics/ types of equipment used and care of ; understand definitions used regarding vacuum pumps and its components.
