Course Description
Residential Studio Covers design development and construction documents for a new single family residence. Prerequisites: ARCH 101, 111, 113, 122, 124, 132, 136, and ART 215.Addendum to Course Description
Students must be capable of reading and communicating in the English language and may be required to pass a listening competency test administered by the department. Students who may have a disability and wish an accommodation should make arrangements to meet with the instructor outside of class to discuss specific requests. Intended Outcomes for the course
Ø Apply design development strategies to a new single family residence.
Ø Create a set of construction documents including structural analysis and design of structural system for a new single family residence.
Outcome Assessment Strategies
- Participation in studio work sessions, class discussions and critiques.
- Proper and timely completion of class projects, which demonstrate effective use of knowledge.
- Evaluation procedures will be presented at the first class meeting. Student grades will be based on satisfactory completion of assigned projects.
