Success of the students in VESL Pathways relies on strong employer partnerships
Most PCC Vocational ESL Pathways require students participate in an internship. These include the Health Care, Office Skills, Direct Care Worker, and Food Service trainings. Over the years that Career Pathways has had trainings the program has relied on employer partnerships to support the success of the students. In many cases these opportunities for students leads to employment with the training site - although going into it this is not expectation. Frequently, when employers have hired students, years later the students are still valuable staff members at those locations.
The Career Pathways trainings are always seeking new internship locations to expand our partnerships with because of the diverse needs of the students. Internships are utilized in all areas of the Portland metro area because trainings operate at PCC SE Center and in Washington County at the CAPITAL Career Center.
Thank you to all current, past and future internship locations. If you are interested in hosting an intern or more information about the program please contact Sara Nelson at 971-722-6284 or at firstname.lastname@example.org.
