When Nawal entered the Food Service Training, she had been in the United States a mere five months. She had been a nurse and a teacher in her native Iraq, but had yet to work in the U.S. After she completed an internship at Cherrywood Village, Nawal entered job search and diligently applied for a variety of positions. She found a job working as a Service Deli Clerk at Albertson’s, and in her free time began to develop an idea for owning her own business making baklava and other sweets. Nawal’s flexibility, ability to learn quickly, and kind nature will continue to ensure her success in her new career.
