Miron Ghebremichael - VESL Food Service
Miron moved to the United States to make a better life for herself.
She is highly motivated and has worked in a few different jobs since she arrived. Understanding the value of getting a stable career, Miron decided to start looking at entry level jobs in the Food Service field. Her long term goals are to continue to support herself while improving her job potential by also attending school.
Miron attended the Institutional Food Service training through Career Pathways utilizing community resources and support from the Metro Workforce Training Center (42nd and Killingsworth). She stayed very busy during the training attending internships at both New Seasons Market and Providence Portland Hospital in their kitchens. She greatly improved her work experience and always maintained a hard working and willing attitude.
Miron worked hard to find a job and was hired on the spot when she interviewed with Porthaven Assisted Living as a Dietary Aide. Miron continues to attend school to reach her long term goal of moving up in the Health Care field while working a full time job utilizing skills learned in Food Service as an tool for success.
