This is her story:
“The first place I considered was Portland Community College. I love the main idea of PCC -“We are all about your future”. It sounds very optimistic for perspective students. It is very important to have people around you who believe in what you do and who you are. I found that support at PCC! I’m so happy I chose the Career Pathway Program, Office Skills Training. It is a unique opportunity for non native speakers to realize their educational goals. I this program I earned a certificate in Computer Applications for Speakers of Other Language (CASOL) Also I improved my English Skills at the same time. I’m grateful to all of our instructors in this program. They are highly skilled in their subject and in helping non native speakers. I was an Intern with WorkSource Hillsboro for 5 months. It was a wonderful experience in develop my office skills and learn about American culture in the workplace. Now I’m working as a Clerical/Office Assistant at PCC, Willow Creek Center. I really enjoy working with everyone from the Skills Team to provide outstanding service for our customers. I would like to tell everyone who is a perspective student of the Career Pathway Program: Believe in yourself and start building your career right now! Remember the wise words of Theodore Roosevelt “Do what you can, with what you have, were you are. Becoming a student of Career Pathway Program is the right path to Career Success”
