Web Development
What is it?
Want to create information platforms that billions of people can have access to at the click of a mouse? Welcome to web Development. Being a "web developer" can cover a wide range of specialties – everything from graphic Web design, actual coding of pages, back end programming, and web server configuration. However, among web professionals, web development usually refers only to the non-design aspects of building websites, e.g. writing markup and coding. But it is based on the critical work of the web developer that information becomes accessible and affordable to all.
Is it right for you?
The Web development industry is expected to grow over 20% by 2010. With the Net economy booming, the job market is wide open for Web developers – especially because Web development carries with it so many options. For example, your training may lead to a position as a programmer, a systems architect, a designer, or creative director. You could become an expert in a popular program such as DreamWeaver, or master the systems management of a custom-designed website. PCC’s Computer Education Program also offers options: we can get you the training you need to improve your sites page by page, or even to launch a complex site capable of handling a company’s whole commerce system.
