Siltronic expansion project includes expanding employee skills
CWT entered into a partnership with the Portland Development Commission, Portland Public Schools, and Siltronic in 1995 to design and deliver a New Employee Training program for Siltronic as it commissioned a new fabrication unit. CLIMB helped to construct a mock clean room at Benson High School, develop more than 320 hours of customized training curricula and deliver 160 hours of training to more than 260 newly-hired employees from Portland’s Enterprise Zone. As a result of the NET, Siltronic’s annual turnover plummeted from more than 100% annually to less than 8% - saving the company more than $1 million annually and reducing new employee ramp-up time by 50%.
