PCC offers two programs:

  • Automotive Service Repair Technology (ASRT)
  • General Motors Sponsored Automotive Service Educational Program (ASEP)

Both ASRT and ASEP are Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) and National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation, Inc. (NATEF) certified and employer respected programs.  All instructors are certified ASE Master Technicians who continually up-grade their technical skills.

ASRT trains you to diagnose, maintain and repair mechanical, hydraulic, fuel and electrical systems on late-model domestic and imported automobiles.

ASEP trains you to diagnose, maintain and repair the mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical and electronic components of General Motors automobiles. ASEP is a partnership between PCC and General Motors Corporation. Classes reflect current GM technology.

PCC also offers upgrade training to technicians already working in the field. You may earn credit for passing ASE tests. See the automotive department chair for details. As an automotive service technician, you will inspect, test, diagnose, repair and supervise the repair of mechanical and electrical systems on automobiles and light trucks. Other responsibilities may include accounting, record keeping, sales, customer relations and management.

Our program is designed to develop your skills in communicating with customers and colleagues, basic arithmetic for using diagnostic equipment, reading and research for using repair manuals, and organization for planning work schedules and repair sequences, plus operation of equipment and diagnostic processes for using logical, step-by-step methods to locate defects.

Automotive service technicians work for automobile dealerships, independent garages, parts houses, service stations, mass merchandisers, fleet owners, and specialty shops. Jobs are available virtually anywhere you wish to live.

The ASRT program consists of three-week instructional modules, each module being an intensive course in a specialized area.
