The Sylvania ESOL Tutoring Center is located in Room CT 208.

Fall 2008 hours:
The Tutoring Center will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday and until 2:00 p.m. on Fridays. There will be tutors in the center at the following times:
Monday: 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Tuesday: 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.; 5:00 - 6:00 p.m.
Wednesday: 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.; 5:00 - 6:00 p.m.
Thursday: 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Friday: 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

Thursdays 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. Conversation group with Sarah Bailie
Fridays 12:00 - 1:00 p.m. Conversation group with Megan Esler
The purpose of the English for Speakers of Other Languages Tutoring Center is to provide supplemental support for ESOL classwork in reading, writing, speaking, and pronunciation for all adults whose native language is not English and who are enrolled in ESOL classes from Levels 4 through 8. The ultimate goal is to prepare the students for regular college coursework at PCC.
The center is operated on a drop-in basis and is equipped with multimedia materials. To accommodate different student needs the center offers small group discussions, conversation practice, and self-paced independent study. The computers in the Center have word processing software and internet access and are equipped with microphones and headsets. However, the emphasis is primarily on one-on-one quality tutoring, mostly by current ESOL instructors, to assist students with specific assignments.
