United States; Installing Premises Cabling Systems
AMP - Act 1
A unique opportunity for installers to learn the latest installing and terminating techniques for networking and premises cabling.
As technology advances, your installation skills must keep pace so you are not caught in a tangle of complex telecommunications cabling problems. This course equips you with the installation and termination know-how you need to enhance your company's quality control, cost effectiveness and profitability, as well as provide you with a competitive edge in bidding, increase the value of your work, and ultimately your customer's satisfaction.
This course includes an overview of premises cabling systems, an in-depth review of the ANSI/TIA/EIA and ISO/IEC industry standards, and a discussion and hands-on practicum on the rough-in, installation, management, and termination of shielded and unshielded twisted pair and optical fiber cabling systems. The course is about 85% hands-on and is designed with a systems approach instruction method where the students will build a rack, install an outlet, and install, terminate and test a cabling link between the two.
Successful completion of the course examination will designate you as an AMP Registered Installer, which will increase your marketability in the telecommunications industry.
United States; Certifying and Troubleshooting Premises Cabling Systems AMP - Act 2
A comprehensive course featuring approximately 75% hands-on training with appropriate tools and test equipment. Each student will obtain the experience necessary to certify and document twisted pair and optical fiber cable plants based on established industry standards. The standards studied in the course include ANSI/TIA/EIA-568A, TSB-67, ANSI/EIA/TIA-526-14A and ANSI/TIA/EIA-526-7. Each student will also obtain experience troubleshooting common problems with installed LAN cable plants. Also, an extensive documentation package is provided which includes course text and notes, copies of the presentation graphics, certification exercises, troubleshooting exercises, LAN system parameter charts, and a glossary of terms.

United States; Designing Premises Cabling Systems
AMP - Act 3
An intensive course designed for individuals involved in the design and installation of premises cabling systems. This course, which is approximately 80% hands-on, prepares the individual to handle the many design criteria decisions associated with premises cabling systems. The student will progress through a step-by-step process from the initial design analysis through the final project presentation. There is an emphasis on the design parameters and guidelines of the TIA/EIA/ISO standards, and the decisions that the designer has to make regarding network platforms and technologies, cabling architectures, and media selection. The student will design several different premises cabling systems based on actual projects. These designs will include campus drawings, floorplan layouts, telecommunications closet and rack elevations, intra-building backbone elevations, and the development of a bill of materials. Students, as part of a small group, will present their design solutions to the class and then each proposal will be discussed in an open forum.
This course will provide you with the information to advance your skills in designing quality premises cabling systems and make you more competitive. The advancement of your design skills will increase your confidence and professional reputation with your company and your clients.

United States; Installing Premises Cable System
In a fast paced industry such as networking, it is important to stay current with knowledge and skills. This course gives an update to AMP Registered Installers who completed Installing Premises Cabling Systems (AMP ACT I) over two years ago and need to update their registration.
This four hour course contains material that is new or has been updated in AMP-ACT I and is required to update the AMP Installer registration. Successful completion of this course will extend the student’s registration by two years.
Students will be given inserts to update the binders they received in the Installing Premises Cabling Systems course.
A student must have completed Installing Premises Cabling Systems to take this course.
