"Only after the last tree has been cut down. Only after the last river has been poisoned. Only after the last fish has been caught. Only then will you find that money cannot be eaten.” – Cree Indian Proverb
PCC Sustainability is a dynamic, collaborative program supported by PCC Board of Directors Sustainable Use of Resources Policy (B-707). Our goal is to shift PCC’s operational practices and academic programs to address concerns of the earth, the economy, and social equity. Sustainability is about taking a holistic view so we can focus our efforts in a way that will ensure PCC is functioning in harmony with the natural balance of the earth. Shifting PCC toward sustainability requires long term planning, while recognizing and celebrating short term achievements. Sustainability is a lot of work but is very rewarding! We need your help!
There are many ways for students to get involved with PCC Sustainability. For students, the PCC Sustainability program is now interviewing for work study positions at all campuses. Students can also get involved by getting active with your campus student government’s sustainability efforts. PCC employees can get involved by volunteering with your campus Green Team.
