E-Cycle Drive a Success!
The 2010 Spring Clean-up and eCycle Drive was a great success! The Clean-up brought in 580 cars, 270 of which dropped off computer equipment at the PCC Sylvania eCycle station. We had 72 PCC student and staff volunteers show up to help recycle the computers - our biggest turn-out yet. Read the re-cap here.

Students, Staff, and Faculty from PCC Sylvania will lead the eCycle portion of the annual Spring Cleanup, accepting old, unwanted computer equipment free of charge. Individuals and households can bring up to 7 items, and PCC students will triage and sort the items before they are responsibly recycled. Last year's drive recycled almost 8 tons of computer equipment, and this year we hope to get even more!
"We are delighted to again participate in this worthwhile event,” said Diane Shingledecker, CAS instructor and lead organizer behind the eCycle Drive. “The instructors build the event into the curriculum, so that students - in Computer Technologies, among other disciplines – have the opportunity to get practical experience at the same time they’re doing community service,” she said. “It’s a win-win.”
