New Alert

A New Alert capability to sound an alert signal, on a building by building basis has been installed at Cascade, Central Portland, Portland Metro, Southeast and Sylvania Campuses. Rock Creek installation is in progress. Please review this safety document and alarm tone attached (on first page - click on speaker icon), so you know when it will be used, what it sounds like and what to do when you hear it.

Public Safety Staff and InterAgency Relationships

DPS operates as a centralized entity under Director, Ken Goodwin. (Staff directory) Offices are located at Sylvania CSB 325, Southeast Center - Mt. Tabor Hall 153, Cascade Public Safety Building 501 North Killingsworth, Rock Creek B5-110, and Portland Metro Workforce Training Center - Bldg 1, Rm 108. View maps of all the campuses and centers.

The department maintains a close working relationship with the Portland Police Bureau, Washington County Sheriff's Office, Oregon State Police and other state and federal law enforcement agencies. Formal and informal meetings with these agencies are held on a regular basis.

DPS participates in, and maintains access to the Oregon Law Enforcement Data System (LEDS), the National Crime Information Center (NCIC), Oregon Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), and the Portland Police Data System (PPDS). Crime related reports and statistics are routinely exchanged through and entered into these data networks.
