All students who participate in this program are responsible for securing their own housing in Barcelona (renting an apartment or renting a room in a private residence). The Universitat Pompeu Fabra Housing web page and the PCC Study Abroad and Exchange Program Coordinator can provide suggestions for lodging options. PCC students participating in this program will take the majority of their classes at the UPF Communication-Poblenou Campus, which is located in the Sant Martí district of Barcelona.
Students are responsible for providing and paying for all of their meals while living in Barcelona. The cost of food is included in the estimate of personal student expenses included on the program cost breakdown sheet that is posted on the Barcelona, Spain Intensive Spanish Immersion Program Expenses web page.
International Airfare and Airport Transportation
Students are responsible for booking and paying for round-trip international airfare costs and airport transportation.
International Health and Travel Insurance
All students who participate in this program are required to purchase and provide proof of international health and travel accident insurance for the duration of the program in Barcelona, Spain.
Students are responsible for providing and paying for the cost of local transportation needs (public transportation and taxis).
The Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF) International Mobility Program offers student support services through the Mobility and Welcome Office (OMA) and a program Exchange Coordinator. Upon acceptance to this program, students will be required to register with UPF, as an exchange student, to receive language testing, pre-departure information, and course registration materials from the Welcome and Mobility Office (OMA).
This is a bilateral student exchange program. Students from UPF come to PCC to study English during the fall term. PCC students go to UPF to study Spanish during the spring term. Students selected to participate in the UPF/PCC student exchange program pay for only the cost of their home school tuition. To determine the cost of 12-15 credits of PCC tuition and fees, students can refer to the College Cost Calculator. Students are required pay their PCC tuition or make college-approved payment arrangements by the Spring term payment due date.
