The International Education Week events include various district wide workshops for faculty and staff from the participants of the BIE (Business and International Education) Grants Program to China last summer and the SIIC (Summer Institute for Intercultural Communication). For students, there will be the International Showcase at Rock Creek (Bldg.3 – Mall) on Tuesday, November 17, the International Extravaganza at Cascade (Cafeteria) on Wednesday, November 18, and the International Showcase at Sylvania (Upper CC Mall) on Thursday, November 19, all three events from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Holly Frohlick, the Study Abroad Program Assistant, is hosting a student workshop to explore personal cultural diversity. Culture influences all of our interactions, whether we realize it or not. The various roles we play in life impact our identity and shape our sense of who and what we are. Explore how the cultures you live within shape both your values and beliefs to influence how you interact with others. This workshop is being held on Wednesday, November 18 on the Sylvania Campus, CC Bldg, Spruce Room.
In addition, don’t miss the presentation of Max Rameau, a Haitian born activist, who will talk about issues regarding immigrant rights and criminal justice at Sylvania on Monday, November 16, in the College Center - Cedar Room, from 1 to 3 p.m. and at Rock Creek on Tuesday, November 17, in the Bldg. 3 – Forum (Room 104), from 12(Noon) to 1:30 p.m.

Tickets are free for the first 60 F-1 international students, $5 for current PCC students when showing their valid ID card, and $10 for faculty, staff, and the general public. The International Celebration Dinner will be in the Rock Creek Campus Events Center in Building 9; dinner will start promptly at 6 p.m. with live entertainment throughout the night until 9 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at the Office of International Education in SSB 214 (Cascade), Bldg. 3 Room 223 (Rock Creek), and CT 103 (Sylvania).
