Necessity is the mother of invention. Due to a last minute cancellation in the North View Gallery, a few PCC faculty and myself started brainstorming for a group show. The MAKING CAMP show started to take form and, within a few weeks, 13 very strong artists emerged and were invited to take on this theme. The resulting show is a media treat with a surprise around every turn. Works range from small watercolors and ceramics to video to large 3-D installations and a 20’x20’ (approx) photo collage. The North View’s setting among the tree tops is the perfect place for this show and these artists have brought their love and concerns for the outdoors in. Not to be missed are two artist-made tents. Theresa Redinger has created a tent of the home she grew up in (with attached two-bike garage) and Mark R Smith collaborated with Joseph Palazzo on a tent that reflects its surroundings through fossil, flora/fauna and landscape elements.
