Statement from the Artist: A.Y. Bain

I am primarily interested in using the domestic, utilitarian vessel as a vehicle for personal expression. The basic reason for this is quite simply that if a reconstituted piece of mountain that I create does not have any long term-artistic merit, at least it has a potential human utilitarian value for the next 10,000 years if we can hold off the apocalypse that long.
