Pow-Wow 2006WACIPI Ninth Annual Traditional Pow-Wow

Portland Community College and the Sylvania Multicultural Center are proud to present WACIPI ­ a celebration of Native American culture and ancestry. The event features drum groups and dancers from across the region and attracts more than 1,000 participants each year. It supports Native American businesses by offering vendor space. Please join us for an extraordinary cultural happening.

Schedule of Events

Health Technology Building (HT) and College Center (CC)

  • College Fair from noon to 4pm
  • Grand Entries at 1pm and 7pm
  • Community Dinner at 5:30pm
  • Silent Auction with works by Native American artists from 4pm to 8pm

Vendor Information

Merchandise vendor space is available. The fee is $50 for one 10 x 10 space and $25 for each additional space. Vendor space is limited. Registration is required prior to the event. Priority given to Native American-owned small businesses. Please call the Sylvania Multicultural Center at 503-977-4112 to register.

Drum Group Information

  • Walk on drum groups are welcome.
  • Space limitations allow for 11 drum groups.
  • No drum hopping.

This event is alcohol and drug free.

American Sign Language and Plains Indian Sign Language available during the event.
