Distance Education serves about 20,000 students a year - 1/5 of total enrollment at Portland Community College. There has been an overwhelming growth in online education, while demand for video-based education has remained steady. The Distance Education department has over 130 dedicated instructors teaching via distance education.

Distance Course Request

This form can be used to create a new web Course, revise an existing web course, take over an existing web course, or make other changes (Including the creation/enhancement of a Telecourse, ITV course, or Classroom/Web Course.)

ITV Video Conferencing
ITV is a state of the art educational videoconferencing system integrating several technologies and using equipment that is easy to operate. Learn about the systems involved and view the current room schedules.

Distance Education

"I wish (all classes) were offered online. I like the flexibility of being able to read the lectures at my convenience. Also, it's really nice not having to wait until the next session of class to talk to the teacher or fellow classmates.
