Logging On
Accessing Your Course
Logging into an online course for the first time may seem overwhelming, but once you learn how, it becomes quite easy. The most important thing is to remember the following address: pcconline.blackboard.com. This is where you go to log in whether it is your first class, or your fiftieth. Luckily, you can easily get to this page by selecting "returning students" on the Distance Education homepage.
Step 1 - Username
Your user name is the same as your MyPCC User Name. If you do not know your MyPCC User Name, please go to the MyPCC User Name Lookup.
(Note that when you log in, you will need to enter the user name completely in lower case and with no spaces.)
Step 2 - Password
Your password is the last 4 digits of your PCC ID number. Your PCC ID starts with a G and can be also be located by logging into MyPCC.
- Log into MyPCC
- On that first screen (the home tab) click on "My Profile".
- Near the top of the page look for "PCC ID" under the "What is my..." heading. The item next to it starts with a G and then has 8 numbers. Your password will be the last 4 numbers.
Once you have determined what your Username and password are, you are ready to log into Blackboard..
Step 3 - Choose Your Course
Once you have determined what your User Name and password are, you do not need to perform steps 1 or 2 again.
- Go to http://pcconline.blackboard.com or click on "returning students" from the distance education homepage.
- Enter the username and password that you just found.
- Next a "My Courses " screen with your name displays. This screen shows the classes for which you are registered. Click on the name of the class you wish to access.
Problems?
If you are having trouble logging in, consider the following:
-
You must be officially registered at PCC and be on the official class roster before you can access your online class. If you are on the class wait-list, you will not have access to the class.
-
Once you are moved from the wait-list to the class roster, you will need to wait 24 hours before you can access your class.
-
Call the Student Help Desk at 503-977-8222.
-
Community Education and Non-credit courses use a different website.
