Global Accessibility Awareness Day 2014
Many of us in Distance Education (and the Library, Disability Services, and the Web Team) are celebrating Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD) 2014. One of the ways we’re celebrating is by updating the college’s accessibility page (http://www.pcc.edu/about/accessibility/) to improve awareness of access issues and to make resources easier to find for students, faculty and staff.
You too can participate in Global Accessibility Awareness Day by going mouseless for an hour or trying out some Assistive Technology (AT) to see how it can affect your access to the web or your course content and activities. If this piques your interest, try signing up for an accessibility training.
Our friends at Desire2Learn are celebrating GAAD as well, highlighting the work of many of their client/partners, including us! The work done by PCC includes all of you as well, whether you’ve been part of the Guiding Team, the GOALS project, taking an accessibility training, adding your alt-tags, doing a Subject Area Accessibility Study, or creating training materials and videos. (Thanks Supada and Karen!)
