About us

The Office of Planning and Capital Construction (P&CC) helps PCC achieve its academic mission by providing planning, design, construction, and project management services for all of the College’s major capital projects. Our team participates in each phase of this work, from visioning with stakeholders, to completing all stages of construction, including furniture planning, move-in coordination, and signage.

The P&CC team supports the College’s integrated planning efforts for future needs by updating and maintaining the facilities plan. P&CC also develops and maintains design standards and construction specifications for the college facilities. This office leads real estate negotiations and land use planning for the college, and it represents PCC on city, regional, and state initiatives.

In addition, P&CC staff oversees capital work that involves information technology, public safety, and security. These projects include planning and implementing improvements for network infrastructure, audiovisual technologies, business continuity, and electronic security.

P&CC also maintains project financial records and documentation and ensures bond compliance by following established procurement and contracting processes. Our office promotes business and workforce diversity by encouraging consultants to meet – and, if possible – exceed the college’s goals. In addition to intentionally requesting participation from COBID-certified MWESBSDV contractors, P&CC supports our general contractors with resources and creates opportunities to connect them with smaller firms, specifically with minority, women, emerging small businesses, and service-disabled veteran-owned businesses. Furthermore, P&CC advocates to increase workforce diversity in the construction field with set goals for our contractors and by monitoring the participation of minorities and women in the trades.
